The Person Behind the Food
Southern Roots · Traveling Chef
My Story
It all started with my grandmother. Growing up, her kitchen was the heart of everything — the smells, the sounds, the way she moved through it like she owned every inch. She handed me a wooden spoon before I could reach the counter, and that's where the love began. Her cooking wasn't just food. It was how she showed up for the people she loved.
After formal training and years in restaurant kitchens, I spent time traveling through the Mediterranean — eating in family homes in Sicily, learning to make mezze in a tiny apartment in Athens, sitting around a fire in Morocco watching a tagine come together over hours. What I found everywhere was the same thing: food made with intention, shared with generosity.
I came home and decided to bring that spirit directly to people's tables. No restaurant walls, no strangers at the next table. Just you, your people, and a meal made entirely for you.
The Philosophy
I believe the best meals happen when the cook is fully present — not just technically skilled, but emotionally invested. When I come to your home, I'm not just executing a menu. I'm trying to understand what this occasion means to you and cook something that honors it.
That means listening carefully during our consultation, sourcing ingredients that are genuinely at their peak, and staying flexible on the day. Food is alive. The best cooking responds to the moment.
What I Stand For
Every dish carries the same intention — to make the people at the table feel genuinely cared for. That's not a technique. It's a way of being in the kitchen.
We cook with what's at its peak. No shortcuts, no out-of-season produce. Just ingredients at their best, treated with respect.
Food is how we gather. Whether it's two people or two hundred, the goal is always the same — a table where everyone feels at home.
